The Presidential Commission of Inquiry (PCOI) investigating the Treasury Bond issue has officially concluded hearing of evidence and other witnesses, the Commission informed today.

The Commission also said it will resit for a special hearing if clarifications are necessary from Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe who informed earlier that he is willing to offer clarifications if Commission needed.  Currently the Commission is hearing the testimony of Arjun Aloysius’s Personal Secretary Gehan Samuels.

The PCoI was appointed to look into the issuance of Treasury bonds by the Central Bank from the 1st of February 2015 to the 31st of March 2016 following reports emerged of financial misappropriation activities.

A three member bench consisting two Supreme Court judges and a retired Deputy Auditor General were appointed by President Maithriapala Sirisena in January to investigate the Central Bank bond issue.
