The Italian Navy FREMM (European Multi-Mission Frigate) Carabiniere arrived at the Colombo Port today. Colombo is the second port visit of a four-months deployment of the vessel. It will call in several ports in Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Oman, Pakistan and Singapore.
ITS Carabiniere is an anti-submarine warship commissioned in April, 2015. It is fitted with latest generation platform and combat systems based on state-of-the-art military and civil standards.
The ship's Commanding Officer, Commander Francesco Pagnotta held a press conference on board today speaking about the ship and her South-East Asia and Australia naval campaign.
The ship will be bearthed at the Colombo Port till January 14.
