Figure it out
The Sunday Times regrets that for the third week in succession it is
unable to publish the Situation Report in view of the ongoing censorship.
This weeks report, submitted to the Army Censor, contained details of
dead, missing in action and wounded in the 13 month long 'Operation Jaya
Sikurui' (or Victory Assured). The Army Censor, in an unprecedented move,
has deleted the figures given in the Situation Report and included his
own set of figures thus giving the copy an entirely different flavour.
Since the figures given in the Situation Report have been completely deleted,
The Sunday Times regrets, it cannot be published with the Army Censor's
own figures.
The Sunday Times figures have been obtained from authoritative military
sources but the censor has chosen to delete them.
