Sri Lanka Foundation awards honour excellence among expatriates
View(s):The Sri Lanka Foundation International awards ceremony takes place annually thanks to the support of the founder and Chairman of the Board of the Foundation, Dr Walter Jayasinghe, supported by its Vice President, Aesha Jayasinghe. The awards recognise those in the Sri Lankan expatriate community whose work have an impact on the lives of others. The awards are given in six categories.
Among this year’s winners are Bhante Dr Henepola Gunaratna, international Buddhist missionary and author, and Dr Yasantha Rajakarunanayake, an inventor in the IT and AI field. The winners are selected by an anonymous board of members.
The Sri Lanka Foundation annual awards ceremony has been held for nearly two decades at the prestigious Wilshire Grand Hotel in Los Angeles, California, organised by the staff of the Foundation – Shirani Stanislaus, CEO; Keshini Wijegoonerathna, Director, Project Management; Achala Weerasinghe, Director, Cultural Affairs; and Chamodh Amarasinghe, Media Director; headed by its President, Dr Dishan Jayasinghe.
