Vihanga Caldera of St. Peter’s College made a clean sweep in the Boys Butterfly event at the recent Junior National Aquatic Championship winning the 50m, 100m and 200m in style. The 14-year-old swimmer trained at the Rainbow Swimming Academy clocked a time of 28.42 seconds in the 50m Butterfly to clinch the gold medal.

In the 100m race, Vihanga came up with an impressive performance, clocking 10.03.17 seconds to win gold medal. He clocked 2:25.43 seconds in the 200m Butterfly to stamp his authority in the pool. In addition, he also clinched a bronze medal in the Men’s 200m Freestyle returning a time of 2:10.20 seconds and finished fourth in the 400m Freestyle with a time of 4:44.34 seconds.
