London, Ontario

Set in the heart of Southwestern Ontario, London is the region’s economic, entertainment and cultural hub. With a population of more than 383,000, London is Canada’s 11th largest city and an ideal environment to work, play and live. Big enough for the ‘big city’ experience, but still far more affordable in comparison with many other Canadian cities, London boasts an extensive educational and health care community, while providing the safe and clean atmosphere of a small community.

King’s University in Ontario, Canada

Affiliated to University of Western Ontario

King’s students enjoy “The Best of Both Worlds” – learning in small classes led by outstanding faculty on a small, beautiful campus while enjoying the experiences of being part of a comprehensive university. King’s students have complete access to all the facilities and services at Western University and graduate with a Western degree. The university emphasizes the value of each individual and the importance of social justice. Being an inclusive, supportive community is one of King’s greatest strengths. Founded on March 7, 1878 by Bishop Isaac Hellmuth (1817–1901) ‘The Western University of London Ontario’ opened its doors to students for the first time in 1881.

It was at Western where Sir Frederick Banting rose from a restless sleep in 1920 and wrote out 25 words that led to his discovery of insulin. It was at Western where researchers led by Ivan Smith developed the world’s first ‘cobalt bomb’ to treat cancer in 1951. This discovery increased the cure rate for cervical cancer to 75 per cent from 25 per cent. And while its excellence roots itself in history, Western continues to eye the next-generation discoveries. Western has continued to push innovation. In 2012 a HIV vaccine developed by Dr. Chil-Yong Kang received approval by the United States Food and Drug Administration to start human clinical trials. Western has been a medical advancement leader since 1878. The university is ranked among the top 1% of higher education institutions worldwide, and is a founding member of the U15 – Canada’s most distinguished research universities. It also holds a proud legacy of Rhodes Scholars, with the 24th announced in 2019.

The university has 12 faculties, including the School of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies, as well professional programs in Medicine, Business, Law and Engineering.
