St. Peter’s College failed to display their fighting guts as last weekend against group leader’s Wesley, as they suffered a shock 10-12 defeat at the hands of Science College in their final first round game of the Dialog Schools Rugby League 2022 at Ratmalana yesterday.

The Peterites had the privilege of scoring first and even leading the halftime, by a close 10-5, up until halfway of the second half, until Science changed the course of their style. Science were scrappy, yet found the perfect form at the crucial time to run out winners as they moved up a slot in the group. They wind up the season with yesterday’s impressive win, a thrilling draw and three losses in five games. Yesterday, they scored from two tries and a conversion.

St. Peter’s, who also makes their exit from the league, completes their campaign with a win, a draw and three defeats. They scored from two unconverted tries yesterday.

Science has won a Knockout title once, but the exit of St. Peter’s, winner of numerous league titles, comes as a surprise.
