Charity dinner dance in UK for Leukaemia patients in Sri Lanka

The Sri Lanka Leukaemia Foundation (UK) celebrated its 15th anniversary fund-raising dinner dance on June 11 at Thistle Hotel, Heathrow, UK.
The charity founded in 2008 to aid Leukaemia patients in Sri Lanka has funded many projects at the Apeksha Hospital Maharagama including the recent donations of blood transfusion pumps, vacuum bags and valves and upgrading the lab information system worth of £23,000. The foundation donated urgently needed medicines to the Apeksha Hospital this year.
“Over the years of the existence of our foundation we were fortunate to donate medical equipment and urgent medication to the value of £100,000 to Apeksha Hospital, all thanks to our generous donors,” stated Sirini Nizar, President, Sri Lanka Leukaemia Foundation (UK).
A raffle was held at the event of which the proceeds will be donated to the Apeksha Hospital.
