Kanchana de Livera and Lasindu Lakshan cracked half tons for Sri Devananda MV Ambalangoda to come out on top against traditional rivals Dharmasoka MV Ambalangoda on day one in their 53rd Battle of the Blues big natch played at the UC ground in Ambalangoda.

Kanchana made a quick fire 98 runs in 59 balls that included 12 boundaries and five sixes while Lasindu chipped in with 55 to help the Devams end day one on 285 for 7 in reply to the Sokians score of 204 runs.

Kanchana added 75 runs for the second wicket with Chamod de Silva and then 55 runs for the fourth wicket with Lasindu who put on another stand of 67 runs for the fifth wicket with Ranusha who made 14. The match will be continued today.
