The week that ends today not only heralded the dawn of a New Year, but is also religiously significant, with the country’s Buddhists observing the Bak Maha Poya yesterday and the Christian community Good Friday. The pictures show devotees at the Kelaniya Raja Maha Viharaya and Colombo’s Archbishop Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith conducting Good Friday Mass at St. Lucia’s Cathedral in Colombo.
