Fernando’s second innings 63 was a quick-fire, coming off from only 71. Along with his knocks, it was a joint assault by the batters of the home team in both their innings, as they piled misery.

Dambulla’s Malinda Pushpakumara after toiling hard was richly rewarded for his seven wickets. However, though, his team replying to Kandy’s big 446, managed to muster only 216. Ashian Daniel and Asitha Fernando shared nine wickets with them, with the former picking up a five-for.
