The S. Thomas’ College Old Boys’ Centenary Group funded the building of a new Engineering Workshop to provide better facilities for the support staff in maintaining the campus which has now expanded with more buildings class rooms, and improved environmental and safety conditions.

The workshop is divided into 3 covered  sections for the Light steel & fabrication, Electrical and Carpentry Units

In addition to the school requirements some commercial jobs will be undertaken to generate extra income to upgrade and sustain the workshop. Proposals to expose students to basic vocational training is also under consideration.

The Warden Father Marc Billimoria along with retired machinist and welder Nandasena cut the ribbon to formally open the new workshop on Old Boys’ Day. Also in the picture are some of the present technical staff, the Sub Warden, Chaplain, Architect,  Dr. Nihal deSilva President of the Centenary Group, and a few of Executive Committee Members.
