Kularathna Central College, Godakawela powered their way to emerge as the overall winners, beating Swarna Jayanthi Maha Vidyalaya, Kegalle on a higher aggregate score, at the inaugural Dialog Schools Rugby Development 7s Championship played at the Ruwanwella Public grounds.
The inaugural development Under-14 tourney was conducted by Sri Lanka Schools Rugby Football Association (SLSRFA) in partnership with Sri Lanka’s premier connectivity provider, Dialog Axiata PLC who powers the Schools Rugby League and Knockout tournaments.
The main objective of the Dialog Schools Rugby Development 7s 2022 was to identify and develop hidden talent from Sri Lanka’s rural peripheries and take the game of rugby from beyond the boundaries of Colombo and Kandy, where the sport is traditionally played and followed.
