Wang’s visit to strengthen China-Lanka ties

As part of his Afro-Asian tour, China’s Foreign Minister arrived here last night after his whistle-stop visit to the Maldives yesterday. At the Bandaranaike International Airport, he was welcomed by Sports Minister Namal Rajapaksa. Mr. Wang’s visit to Sri Lanka, a key partner in Beijing’s Belt-and-Road Initiative, comes at a time when Sri Lanka is desperately in need of foreign aid and investment.
