The Colombo-based Centre for Advancement of Resource Mobilisation (CARM) is organising a seminar titled “Global trends in Philanthropy – Their relevance to Sri Lankan organisations” tomorrow December 13 at the Sri Lanka Foundation Institute in Colombo.

The resource person is Mr. Venkatesh Raghavendra, a social entrepreneur with over three decades of philanthropy and development experience. He has successfully built global partnerships and mobilised significant resources for a number of international and national organisations.

Mr. Raghavendra formerly worked with the American India Foundation, UK-based Common Purpose and Washington DC-based Ashoka: Innovators for the Public. Currently he spends some time with Safe Water Network.

The seminar will discuss new ideas on fund raising, finding creative ways to diversify the funding base and seeking support from international partners.
