Grades six to nine back at school from tomorrow onwards
View(s):With the decision to begin classes for grade six to nine from tomorrow schools will be fully functional for the first time since the closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Steps were taken to resume classes under four stages in schools that were closed due to the COVID-19 situation.
Under the first stage the primary grades in schools with less than 200 students, under the second stage primary grades in all schools and under the third stage Ordinary Level and Advanced Level grades in all schools resumed. Under the fourth stage grades 6, 7, 8, and 9 in all schools will resume classes tomorrow.
Educational activities in all government and government approved private schools will begin tomorrow.
The decision to resume classes from grade six to nine was taken last week, at a discussion with Education Ministry officials including the Education Ministry Secretary Kapila Perera held last week at Isurupaya.
