Due to Covid-19 pandemic situation, social distancing has become  a main preventive measure and the world is changing a lot as a result of it.

Organisations use online platforms immensely to their day to day operations than before and searching alternative methods of functioning to cater the current challenges created by social distancing policies.

Schools are closed for months in many countries around the world and teachers and students forced to move to virtual platforms to continue education.

Many students and teachers around the world face difficulties to adapt to virtual methods of education due to lack of access to internet facilities, lack of resources such as desktop computers, laptops or smart phones, and lack of digital competency. Therefore teachers couldn’t reach all students using virtual methods.

However virtual methods of education provide opportunity for teachers to use more video and audio visuals using digital platforms to educate children in an effective way.

As well as many students and teachers use the vacation during the pandemic as an opportunity engage with some productive work such as to make innovative products, write new books or research articles, and to cultivate their home gardens.

Therefore it is evident, that there are many opportunities and challenges created as a result of Covid-19 pandemic and the world after the pandemic will not be the same.

In this scenario, Prince of Wales’ College, Moratuwa is planning to organise the “International Education Conference 2021” on 02nd and 03rd October 2021 in celebration of 145th anniversary of the college on the main theme of “Sustainable Education in the New Normal”.
