Online modules for home based education
View(s):The Education Reforms, Open Universities & Distance Learning Promotion State Ministry is to introduce a home based learning system soon.
Under the scheme the classes have been separated to three different categories and the necessary modules have been drawn up, the Ministry’s Secretary Upali Sedara said.
Under the scheme grade one to five will be in one category, grade six to eight under another category and grade nine and above as another category.
The required modules will be sent through the zonal education departments to the respective principals who will have to send it to the children.
The students are required to complete the assignments and send it to the respective teacher who will mark the assignments.
Dr Sedara said by marking the assignments the school will have a proper assessment of the students. The introduction of the system will be able to overcome obstacles in the online education system, he said.
