Meeting underway at the governor’s office to discuss the vaccination programme

A command room is being set up and health service officials are being given special training as part of preparations to launch the COVID-19 vaccination programme in the Central Province, Governor Lalith U.Gamage said.

He said the programme would be carried out in keeping with health guidelines and in a manner that would not cause inconvenience to the people.

He made this announcement this week at a meeting which was also attended by Ministers Mahindananda Aluthgamage, Keheliya Rambukwella, State Minister Anuradha Jayaratne, and provincial health and development committee officials.

The Governor said the vaccination programme would be carried out without political interference as it was a national cause. He said random PCR tests were also being carried out and their results would be released in the shortest time possible.
