New CB Deputy Governors appointed

The Monetary Board has promoted Assistant Governors, Ms. T.M.J.Y.P. Fernando and N.W.G.R.D. Nanayakkara to the post of Deputy Governor of the Central Bank with effect from December 14, it was announced on Thursday.
Ms. Fernando has over 30 years of service in the Central Bank in the areas of supervision and regulation of banks, foreign exchange management and currency management.
She holds a Master of Financial Economics degree from the University of Colombo and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura.
Mr. Nanayakkara has over 27 years of experience in the Central Bank especially in the areas of Supervision and Regulation of Banks, Foreign Reserves Management and International Operations, Domestic Operations, Macroprudential Surveillance, and Public Debt Management.
Mr. Nanayakkara holds a Master of Science degree in Finance from the American University, Washington DC and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura.
