The School for the Deaf Sports Meet

The Inter-House Sports Meet of the School for the Deaf, Ratmalana, was held at the school grounds recently under the guidance of the Principal, Mrs. Samanthika Jayasuriya. Miskin House, with 302 points, emerged champions. Carter House finished second with 263 points while Gibbon House occupied the third position with 187 points.
The drill display, school band and the march past by the students of the School for the Deaf added colour to the event which was witnessed by a large number of spectators, including the present and past students, parents along with well wishers.
The occasion was graced with the presence of the chief guests, Lion P.M. Mahendran, District Governor 306B1, Lion Lady Mrs. Sangeetha, the guest of honour Rev. Fr. Nihal Fernando, former Head Master, St. Thomas’ College, Guruthalawa, Shivantha Vivekanandan, President, Deaf School Past Pupils’ Association, Ratmalana.
It was sponsored by the Lions Club of Colombo North 306 B1.
