Crystal Stone pioneers Quartz slab manufacturing industry

In a media release, Director of Ruhunu Lanka Minerals Buddhika Kariyawasam, said, “From investing in a multi-million-dollar factory and hiring hundreds of local workers, we are committed to growing a successful Quartz manufacturing industry in Sri Lanka.”
He believes that the export of quartz powder in its basic form is a calamitous waste of Sri Lanka’s resources and that both consumers and the greater economy would benefit from a strong Sri Lankan industry to compete against foreign giants. “We already export our products to the US and Australia as our talented staff and streamlined production process give us a competitive edge. Further support from the government and local consumers will allow us to invest more in our technology and workers, increasing efficiency,” he added.
Crystal Stone’s success proves that Sri Lankan businesses don’t need to settle for exporting raw materials to be sold back to our consumers, but rather can manufacture premium products to service both the local and international markets.
