While release of new movies has been halted due to world-wide Covid-19 pandemic, three 2015 Hollywood blockbusters are now being released at Liberty cinema and Colombo City Centre. It would be another opportunity for those who missed them when they were originally released here.

Directed by Christopher McQuarrie, this fifth installment in the Mission: Impossible film series, ‘Rogue Nation’ grossed US dollars 682 million worldwide, becoming the eighth-highest-grossing film of 2015 and the third-highest-grossing film starring Tom Cruise. Starring Cruise, Jeremy Renner, Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson, Alec Baldwin, Sean Harris, Ving Rhames, Simon McBurney, and Tom Hollander and the filming began on August 21, 2014, in Vienna, Austria.

The sixth of the Paranormal Activity series ‘The Ghost Dimension’, directorial debut of Gregory Plotkin was released on October 23, 2015. The film had grossed over $78 million worldwide on a $10 million budget

A soft reboot of the Terminator film series, ‘Terminator Genisys’, Arnold Schwarzenegger reprised his role as the welknown Terminator directed by Alan Taylor.

Along with Schwarzenegger Jason Clarke, Emilia Clarke, Jai Courtney, J. K. Simmons, Dayo Okeniyi, Matt Smith, Courtney B. Vance, and Lee Byung-hun played in the film. It follows Kyle Reese, a soldier in a post-apocalyptic war against Skynet, who is sent from 2029 to 1984 to avert Sarah Connor’s death. When Kyle arrives in the past, he discovers that the timeline has been altered, and that Sarah has been raised by a reprogrammed Terminator. The film grossed over US dollars 440 million worldwide, making it the second-highest-grossing film of the series, and of Schwarzenegger’s career, behind Terminator 2: Judgment Day.
