DirectFN refurbishes Colombo East Base Hospital lounge area

The lounge area of the Colombo East Base Hospital, Mulleriyawa was renovated and expanded recently initiated by DirectFN, a leading ICT company in the country, to coincide with its 20th anniversary celebrations.

DirectFN Director/ Chief Technical Officer Ruwan Aluthgedara, Director - Colombo East Base Hospital, Mulleriyawa Dr. Priyanth Karunarathne, Deputy Director - Colombo East Base Hospital, Mulleriyawa, Dr. Muditha Perera and Dr. Kasun Withana at the opening ceremony.

It was declared open by hospital directors, DirectFN team and the officers of Sri Lanka Army, the company said in a media release.

DirectFN contributed to this project through the donation of materials to carry out the renovations which was much needed with the emergence of COVID-19.

“The hospital had to carry out its operations even with the present situation of COVID-19 adhering to the health guidelines issued by the Health Ministry. At this time of need DirectFN and Sri Lanka Army stepped up to our assistance and completed this project in a short span of time, “ Colombo East Base Hospital Director, Dr. Priyanth Karunarathne said.

Speaking at the opening, DirectFN, Director/Chief Technical Officer, Ruwan Aluthgedera said that this project is a small stepping stone and many more projects will be carried out in the future. “We have done so many CSR projects in Panadura, Kalubowila and Colombo Hospitals. This is a congested environment so it was needed to facilitate the waiting time of the patients and to keep them comfortably during their clinic times. DirectFN has many plans for the hospital in the future such as making this place a carbon zero hospital and generating its own electricity. We will execute these projects in the future,” Mr. Aluthgedera said.

DirectFN will continue to support the efforts of the government and healthcare sector to protect the country in these challenging times which will help lighten the burden on state coffers and protect caregivers.
