The entire world has undergone unprecedented times of trials and lost efficiencies due to the Covid-19 pandemic, but this phenomenon doesn’t stand true for Bristol Institute of Business Management which has proven that resilience, continued perseverance and unchanging commitment to success yield results even in the worst times.

“The pandemic has indeed cast a gloomy shadow upon everything:  However, we at Bristol Institute of Business Management refused to be dragged down by Covid-19, and our commitment has paved off with the institute enjoying continuous success due to proactive, innovative and robust measures taken at the right time,” explains Chief Operating Officer M.J.M. Dilshad.

Bristol Institute of Business Management, which offers postgraduate and undergraduate programmes in Business Administration and Accounting & Finance awarded by the University of the West of England (UWE), Bristol – a university ranking 28th in the Guardian League Table – along with university approved comprehensive foundation programmes and a LLM Masters in Commercial Law, has enjoyed a full intake for its MBA programme commencing in May.

“Even in a crisis situation like this our May intake – the 5th consecutive MBA batch – is full,” says Dilshad, adding that the institute has an accumulated population of 250 MBA students since its first intake in January 2019 – a commendable feat achieved in record time.

There have been many factors that have contributed to the success of the institute, especially with regards to its one-year MBA programme: a strict quality policy regarding learning, delivery and curriculum, a dedicated lecture panel comprising PhD Holders, researchers, highly experienced professionals and industry experts, and an unparalleled commitment to ensure that students enjoy the a holistic learning experience in accordance with international standards.

Bristol Institute of Business Management was quick to assess the impact of Covid-19 and was proactive in shifting its physical lectures to an online platform. “We invested in sophisticated digital platforms to enable webinars, online tutoring, student support and even a full-blown virtual library to take education and teaching from white boards to laptops,” avers Dilshad. “Our quality was never interrupted; we used technology to support our initiative and step into the next level,” he added.

With the institute’s academic support department working round the clock, and lecturers giving their 200 percent in making sure that student learning is uninterrupted, the institute has been able to enhance its offering amidst the pandemic lockdown. In order to enable 24/7 support for students and reduce the students-to-lecturer ratio, Bristol Institute of Business Management also recruited external faculty members to facilitate assignment support and additional learning enhancements.

The methodologies used by the institute have been robust in terms of physical-to-digital transformation. Although the institute was physically closed, all operations from admissions to assignment evaluations and from student support to curriculum updates have continued seamlessly.

“The times are tough, and overall morale is down – everything around us has slowed in pace, intensity and drive, but not for us,” says Dilshad, adding that, “at Bristol Institute of Business Management, we believe that challenges are a way of life and everything is a learning experience – you cannot let tough times delay your education.”
