Scholarship offers for higher education in traditional and indigenous medicine

In a bid to promote and encourage the following of traditional and indigenous healing methods, the Indian Government is offering scholarships to Sri Lankans to follow undergraduate, post graduate and PhD courses in Ayurveda, yoga, unani, siddha and homeopathy.

The Indian High Commission of Colombo announced that, under the Ayush Scholarship Scheme, meritorious Sri Lankans will be selected to follow courses in the above fields in India. The selection will be done in consultation with the Higher Education Ministry. The deadline for the submission of applications for the academic year 2020-2021 is June 01, 2020. Applications will be accepted by the Higher Education, Technology and Innovation Ministry.

“These scholarships cover full tuition fees and includes a monthly sustenance allowance, for the entire duration of the course. The scholarship also includes an accommodation allowance and an annual grant. Besides this, all Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) scholars in India are provided full healthcare facilities,” the Indian High Commission said.
