The coronavirus pandemic has wreaked havoc across the world causing a complete halt in daily routines. After a nationwide month-long lockdown, the government announced last week it would relax curfew in 19 districts from April 20.

When normalcy returns people tend to resume their daily routines.

Health authorities are requesting that the public adhere to health guidelines and act in a responsible manner to contain the spread of the virus.

This week public transport services that resumed, such as buses, drew attention. Those operating buses, vans and rail carriages were advised to transport only half of their full capacity. It was mandatory for all passengers to wear masks and maintain a safe distance from each other. However, we witnessed in several areas that transportation services, especially buses, operated violating social distancing rules, while on the ground some people stood in clusters ignoring health guidelines.
