The discussion titled Building Bridges and Breaking Barriers organised recently by the Women’s Association of Sri Lanka Malays moderated by Dr. Romola Rassool opened the floor to valuable interactive discussion.

The purpose of this discussion was to find the common thread that would help women work towards nurturing unity, peace, and harmony in our motherland.

The detailed presentations made by Dr. Farzana Haniffa and Dr. Minna Thaheer were very informative and gave an insight as to why it seems history always repeats itself. It was unfortunate that two of the major religious groups did not participate.

Their input could have contributed to a very large measure in reaching out to the women of our motherland to work towards nurturing unity, peace, and harmony.
