Playback Performance with Basement Playback Theatre Company (age 8 -15) was held on February 15, at The Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art Sri Lanka, situated at the 17th Floor, No. 58, Lauries Road, Colombo 4 (Colombo Innovation Tower).
Colombo’s Basement Playback Theatre company is a diverse group with members hailing from different cultures, religions, nationalities, professions, ages and gender.
What they share is a joy in performing people’s stories and a belief in the power of this form of improvisational theatre. Playback Theatre uses deep listening, theatre games, spontaneity, and guidance to draw people closer together and honour individuals’ stories, displaying surprising emotional depth and connection for its seeming simplicity.
