LadBaby’s ‘I Love Sausage Rolls’ storms the charts

LadBaby took the 2019 Christmas No: 1 on the UK singles chart by storm with ‘I Love Sausage Rolls’ – a reworking of Joan Jett & Blackhearts hit of 1981- ‘I Love Rock ‘n’ Roll’. LadBaby is 32 year old You Tuber and blogger Mark Hoyle. The song debuted straight in at the top of the UK chart replacing Tone & I’s ‘Dance Monkey.

Mark is joined by his wife Roxanne and their two sons at some point of the track on vocals. Proceeds of the song will go the Trussell Trust food bank charity. On the video for the song LadBaby and team are seen crossing the iconic Abbey Road in London.  LadBaby’s chart success is back to back as last year too his song ‘We Built This City (On Sausage Rolls)’ was the Christmas No: 1. Thus he is the only act to have two novelty Christmas No: 1 songs back to back.

‘I Love Sausage Rolls’ had 85,000 chart downloads – the fastest selling download of the year.

Bono planning a cultural and wellness centre in Dublin

Bono is planning to build a cultural and wellness centre in his hometown in Dublin, Ireland. The U2 leader who has just completed the Joshua Tree Tour is collaborating with Paddy McKillen an hotelier to develop the location which was once the site of a cafe in Dalkey. The proposed centre will be a leisure, health and cultural venue when completed.

Stormzy secures two chart entries on UK top 10 singles chart

Stormzy scored two chart entries on the UK top 10 singles chart this Christmas week with Audacity’ debuting at No: 6 and ‘Lessons’ debuting at No: 9. Though both songs are featured on his current album ‘Heavy Is The Head’ they have not been released, yet thanks to downloading the two songs have become the grime and rap artist’s his 11th UK top 10 hit songs either on his own or as a featured act. On ‘Audacity’ which a rap track Stormzy is joined by fellow rapper Headie One while on ‘Lessons’ Stormzy raps and sings the chorus.

Ellie Goulding comes to the rescue of trapped car driver

Ellie Goulding has come to the rescue of a trapped car driver. The singer was in her Range Rover with a chauffeur on Western Avenue in West London when they noticed a Volkswagen Golf GTi turned sideways and being pushed by a Royal Mail lorry. Goulding’s vehicle alerted the lorry driver and saved the smaller car and driver on 16th December. The lorry driver claimed he did not see the car due to the high windscreen. Goulding released a screenshot of the incident on social media. Although nobody was hurt, Royal Mail was said to be investigating the incident according to reports.

Ed Sheeran takes home most streamed artist title of 2019

Amazon has named Ed Sheeran as the Most Streamed Artist for 2019. His album ‘No: 6 Collaborations’ was named by UK listeners as the favourite album. A week earlier Sheeran was named the UK’s Artist Of the Decade by the Official Charts Company.
