Sri Lanka’s top poultry producer Crysbro, in a continuation of its deep commitment to community and employee empowerment, recently released a special calendar for 2020 which features the art of several of its employees’ children from across the island.

The 12 drawings and paintings for the calendar were selected following a competition which saw the participation of 176 children spread throughout the company’s 18 business locations, competing in the Junior, Teenage and Senior age categories.

Contestants were asked to hand in creations that aligned with Crysbro’s key CSR projects, comprising the themes Haritha Sathkara, Dirisaviya, Next Champ, Sisudiriya, Praja Aruna and Suwa Shakthi, according to a company media release.

The contest was conducted by Crysbro’s Human Resources Department, with the winners being selected by the Gampola Zonal Education Director. A total of 18 winners were picked, with the work of the top 12 being reproduced in the calendar and the remaining six earning the opportunity to showcase their work through Crysbro-branded exercise books that are handed out each year.

Crysbro’s 2020 calendar carries images of each artwork beside a photograph of its creator and his or her family, along with a brief description of the young artist. Additionally, the calendar also presents pictures and summaries of each of the organisation’s 18 business locations.

“The entire initiative brought great excitement and enthusiasm across the Crysbro family. In addition to producing a unique calendar which is aesthetically pleasing, the competition uncovered a great wealth of artistic talent and encouraged the participants to continue harnessing their creativity,” said Crysbro, Senior Marketing Manager Amores Sellar.

“Throughout this year, the message of empowerment has underscored all of our community and internal CSR projects. By emphasising this aspect of our charitable relationships, we wanted to equip all of our stakeholders with the confidence and wherewithal to actively pursue success in both their professional and personal lives.”

Established in 1972 with just 100 chicks and a deep desire to be a market leader in quality and innovation, Crysbro has emerged as Sri Lanka’s first and most sophisticated, fully vertically-integrated poultry producer. Its operations span grandparent and parent farms, hatcheries, broiler farms and feed mills. This thriving ‘Farm-to-Fork’ concept has formed the core of its success. In turn, it has yielded unprecedented benefit for numerous stakeholders including direct and indirect employees, outgrowers, domestic maize farmers and ultimately Sri Lankan consumers.
