Seasonal cheer: A scene from the play

‘Sorry, Wrong Chimney’, is the comic story of a moonlighting husband (David), a suspicious wife (Samantha), inquisitive neighbours (Bill and Natalie), a policeman and a delusional burglar who believes he’s Santa Claus (or is it just part of a ruse?).

Originally written by Jack Sharley and produced and directed by Leo Sears, Sorry Wrong Chimney is a play that leans heavy on slapstick comedy mixed with farcical frenzy.

The Silent Hands Productions company will usher in the Christmas season as they stage the play for audiences on November 29 and 30 at the Lionel Wendt Theatre from 7.30 p.m. Full of jovial humour and Christmas cheer, it’s entertainment for the family, as you get ready for the season.

The play has been praised by the Phoenix Gazette as “A lighthearted Christmas tale full of mistaken identities and zany foul-ups, with a smattering of slapstick [...] What you see is what you get: A couple of hours of uncomplicated laughter and fun.”

The cast consists of veteran thespian Neidra Williams together with Jehan Bastians  – who also direct the play. They are joined by Julian Anderson, Melmarie Cruse, Kovindu De Seram, Chantal Dassanayake and Christopher Stephen.

Tickets are priced at: Rs. 3500, Rs.  2500, Rs. 2000, Rs. 1500 and Rs. 800 (Balcony). The box plan will open at the Wendt from November 18 onwards.
