Biopic on the Bee Gees in the making

A biopic on the Bee Gees is in the making. Graham King who produced Bohemian Rhapsody, the life about Freddie Mercury took to social media to indicate he was working with Paramount Pictures and the production company Sister. The idea of making a biopic about the group has been around for nearly 10 years according reports. The Bee Gees were formed in 1958 and the group went on be a popular act in the 60s, 70s and 80s.

Their popularity reached an unprecedented level in the disco era with Saturday Night Fever soundtrack being a phenomenal success. The Bee Gees developed a high pitched falsetto with Barry Gibb the eldest of the siblings in particularly leading the way. They sold 220 million albums worldwide. The Bee Gees were the brothers Barry, Robin and Maurice Gibb. Maurice died in 2003, and Robin died in 2012. Many of their songs have become iconic hits. Barry 73 is the only surviving brother who was knighted in 2018.

The new song by Selina Gomez ‘Lose You To Love Me’ took a big leap to enter the UK singles chart from 65 to No: 3. The song which is in its second week on the chart, is second single to roll off from what will be Selina’s next album. This slow track is a break up song which is her best UK chart performer. The video to the song is shot in black and white. ‘Lose You To Love Me’ is the singer’s fourth UK top 10 hit.

Kanye West launches ‘Jesus is King’ album

Kanye West has a Christian hip hop album out called ‘Jesus Is King’. Several songs have got streamed with ‘Follow God’ leading the way to the UK top 10 as it debuted at No:6. All 11 tracks from ‘Jesus Is King’ are somewhere or another on the UK chart.

Lizzo scores first top 10

Lizzo has scored her first UK top 10 this week with ‘Good As Hell’. The song moved to No: 7 from 18. Although Lizzo was in the UK in March and appeared on the Jonathan Ross show, her music failed to get much attention. ‘Good As Hell’ was originally released in 2016 but the version that has caught the attention of the UK public is a remix featuring Ariana Grande

Liam Gallagher to continue making music for fans

Liam Gallagher the former Oasis member has said he will continue to make rock and roll albums for as long as fans want them. The 47 year old singer made the comments to the Daily Star newspaper a day after winning the first Rock Icon award at the MTV European Music Awards in Seville, Spain on 3rd November.

Ed Sheeran named richest celebrity in the UK under 30

Stuart Camp the manager of Ed Sheeran has called for changes to the way the UK singles charts are calculated. He wants more variety as the bigger acts are holding on to the top spot for weeks which he claims is boring. Camp has also disclosed that Sheeran is working on a new album which will be his fifth. His current album is ‘No:6 Collaborations Project’. Meanwhile Ed Sheeran has been named the richest celebrity in the UK under the age 30 with income increasing from £94 million to £170 million between 2018 and 2019.
