On October 26 at the Western Cultural Centre  Auditorium, Colombo an exciting musical  production ‘The Thinks You Can Think’  based on ‘Horton Hears a Who!’ by Dr. Seuss, was presented by the Spotlight Young Actors’ Studio.

Set in the fascinating Jungle of Nool, the little performers were all decked out in colourful
costumes. They varied from the two boys who shared the role of ‘The Cat in the Hat’ who wore
the definitive striped red and white hat, to girls in vibrant feathered costumes and others in printed jumpsuits adorned either with antlers or round ears.Over 35 children between 5 – 15 years, sang and danced their hearts out on stage.

The talented set of children showed off their  abilities from the heartfelt solos from Horton, played by Limath Ellawala, Gertude played by Dilenya  Ellawalla and Mayzie played by Dinara Ellepola, to the comical group performances from the Bird Girls, The Whos and the Wickersham Brothers.

It was a solid performance that ended with a strong finish as the entire cast pulled off an energetic rendition of ‘The People vs. Horton’.

The show was directed and produced by founder of Spotlight Young Actors’ Studio, Amanda Paiva.
