The 14th International Research Conference on Management & Finance (IRCMF) organised by the Faculty of Management & Finance, University of Colombo (UoC) will be held on October 25.

Through this conference, the Faculty’s objective is to enable academics of the Management discipline to engage, debate, and present their on-going Research.

This year, the Research papers to be presented are on Accounting, Business Economics & Finance, Human Resource Management, Management, Organisation Studies & International Business, Hospitality, Marketing, and Tourism.

In addition to the presentation of academic papers, the Conference includes the Doctoral Colloquium with the main conference, enabling current and prospective Doctoral students to present their Research ideas and obtain valuable feedback to progress in their Research.

Further to this, the Faculty conference also hosts an ‘Industrial Dialogue’, enabling both academics and practitioners to bridge industry phenomena, concerns and trends by inspiring researchers with new research ideas, and also industry professionals to explore solutions to their contemporary organisational problems.

This year the Industry Dialogue is hosted on the theme of “Generations at Work: Understanding, Managing and Working with Generations Y and Z”. Through a panel of experts who had dealt with these two generations in various capacities, using different leadership styles, the Industry Dialogue expects to discuss how organisations can get a better understanding about these generations at work.

The Keynote speaker at the conference is Dr. Asanga Thilakarathe – former Senior Chair Professor of Pali & Buddhist Studies of the UoC, who will speak on “Need for a Paradigm Shift: A Metta-based Approach to Business.”
