Biography of Rev. Poruthota released on his birthday

Maximus Roy Perera of the Catholic Writers’ Association has written the biography of Rev. Ernest Poruthota, a versatile writer who celebrated his 88th birthday in his mission house at St. Peter and Paul Church, Lunawa, Moratuwa on August 30.
Several members of the Catholic Writers’ Association attended the ceremony where the book was presented to Rev. Poruthota and wished the retired priest good Health.
Rev. Poruthota was instrumental in directing the local Church towards a cultural transformation on the lines of the recommendations of the Vatican II Convention in 1962. Born in 1931, he entered priesthood in 1957. He served several parishes in the Colombo Archdiocese.
