Launching her Monograph ‘Anoma’ at Colombo’s Shangri-La Ballroom on Monday before a convivial gathering that included Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and Prof. Maithree Wickramasinghe, artist Anoma Wijewardene spoke of her urgency to share her work with a wider audience.

“As many of you are aware, my art has consistently focused on my concerns for the state of the planet, environmental sustainability and climate emergency. I have been passionate about embracing diversity, inclusivity, and seeking unity  – the only way to  co-exist…..and by bringing together the threads of my work in this book my hope is that this will not only give you pleasure but pause for thought and maybe inspire your own contribution to our joint future,” she said.

Thanking her many sponsors and supporters, she announced to warm applause that she would be channelling a portion of the sales of the book towards a foundation to mentor women who aspire to a career in art.
