My best friend

My best friend is Osada. We are in the same school. His mother’s name is Rangani Geewanthi and his father is Dammika Rohan.

His favourite food is rice and curry. He is in Grade Four.
He lives in Homagama. He likes to drink milk. He comes to my house and we watch cartoons and play well. He can run fast. He likes to be a doctor. He can study well.

My pet

My pet is a cat.
It is white in colour so I call it Snowy.
It likes to eat fish
and drink milk.

I love my cat very much but I don’t like my cat when she eats squirrels and butterflies that come to my garden.

A carnival and fun fair I enjoyed

My grandparents, my aunt and uncle and my cousin, live in a small village in Nuwara Eliya. The year before last, we visited them and we were just after our trip to Horton Plains.
The next day we were due to go to a carnival.

At around 5 p. m., we went to Gregory’s Lake. We started with a strawberry milkshake. Then my little sister saw something. (She has sharp eyes even though she wears glasses).
She spotted a black truck that showed
12D movies. 12D!

I’ve never see anything like that before. It was dark inside. They showed us three movies. The first movie was a lady dancing with diamonds. The second was amazing – it was a jet and we were in it (I had wondered why they told us to put on seatbelts). Every time the jet turned a sharp bend, so did the seats!

For the third movie we got a gun and were supposed to shoot a river monster. Water was sprayed from everywhere. It was bizarre.

Next we went to see a magic show. The magician was spectacular. While watching we ate potato chips. When it was dark, the real carnival fun began. There were a lot of different shops and rides. My cousin wanted to go on an ‘air water ball’ ride. It was ridiculous. Next we went on the Dragon ride which was a roller-coaster. Those days I hated heights and it went so fast with a massive drop. There was a pool below. My cousin and my sister yelled ‘yeah’, while I yelled ‘ahhh!’ Well maybe it was a bit fun…

Then my sister wanted to go on the carousel so we went with her. We went on the bumper cars, on a train ride, in paddle boats and ate some hot-dogs and cotton candy. We had lots of fun playing games. I won a teddy-bear for throwing all three rings in the cone.

I enjoyed every minute and the memory will last forever.
