Pakistan donates sewing machines to Chaplain St. Vincent De Paul Society
View(s):The Government of Pakistan, through its High Commission, donated sewing machines to Chaplain St. Vincent De Paul Society in Wennapuwa on Tuesday.
High Commissioner Dr. Shahid Ahmad Hashmat handed over the sewing machines to Fr. Quintus Fernando during a ceremony at the High Commission of Pakistan premises.
The High Commissioner said the donation would help to improve the income generation of needy women by creating self-employment opportunities. He said the foremost obligation of society was to equip needy women with skills to give them an honourable place in society and their homes.
