CIMA Sri Lanka Toastmasters shine at ovation 2019

The CIMA Sri Lanka Toastmasters club received the prestigious Golden Gavel award at Ovation 2019, District 82’s annual Toastmasters conference held at the Chennai Trade Centre, India from May 23 – 26.

The award was a testimony to the collective annual club effort and diligence, planning and execution by club president Nashitha Mohamed and the Ex-Co along with the full support of the members and guidance of the club mentor, the late Padmini Samarasinghe. The club won the same award last year as well at Ovation 2018.

The Golden Gavel award is an official recognition and appreciation of a club’s outstanding achievements in the pursuit of Club Quality & Club Engagement as prescribed by Toastmasters International (TMI).

There were also two individual recognitions for CIMA at this prestigious gathering. Probodini Seneviratne was awarded the Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM) award; the highest accolade in Toastmasters in recognition of a superior level of achievement in both communication and leadership while. Asghar Rana was recognized as a Triple Crown winner for completing three educational milestones -Pathways Level 5, Advanced Communicator Gold (ACG) and Advanced Leadership Bronze (ALB) in a single programme year.

CIMA members / passed finalists & CIMA Final Level students are welcome to join the club for improvement of public speaking and leadership skills. Meetings are held every 2nd& 4th Wednesday at the CIMA auditorium, Narahenpita, from 6 p.m. onwards.
