Pera Uni’s batch of 69 plans gala event to mark golden jubilee
View(s):The Peradeniya University’s 1969 batch will celebrate its 50th anniversary on October 12 at the university premises. An array of activities, including lectures by scholars and a musical event featuring songs rooted in the university, have been planned to mark the day. The organisers cordially invite the alumni and their family members to participate in the celebration.
The highlight of this day will be the unveiling of the statue of Sinhala literature professor Ediriweera Sarathchandra, who revived the Sinhala drama.The organisers say generous contribution are welcome from well-wishers to make this event a a success.
