Water cut due to Ambatale plant repairs

Several areas in Colombo experienced a prolonged water cut due to repairs being carried out at the Ambatale water treatment plant and maintenance work on the water transmission line in Kotte.

National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWSDB) Chiarman K.A. Ansar said they were repairing a generator connected to the water line from Ambatale to Maligakanda, while the CEB was attending to maintenance work of a transformer at the Ambatale plant.

He said areas such as Nugegoda, Pitakotte, Rajagiriya, Nawala, Attul Kotte, Udahamullla, Nawinna, parts of Thalawathugoda and Borella were experiencing an 18-hour water cut from 9 a.m. Saturday, while Dehiwela, Mount Lavinia, Ratmalana and parts of Colombo North were facing a 12-hour water cut.
