Samanera in need of urgent eye surgery
View(s):Fourteen-year-old samanera Indrarathana Wellampitiye is currently awaiting a DSEK/PK+ eye operation to regain sight in his right eye after an accident.
In the past three years, his eyesight has deteriorated as he could not afford the cost of the operation. The surgery is now urgently needed, and Dr. Charith Fonseka, Consultant Eye Surgeon of Durdans Hospital Colombo will be carrying out the operation.
The surgery alone will cost Rs. 110,000 (subject to change) excluding the Surgeon’s cost. A heartfelt plea from his family is for generous donors to support and provide financial aid to put him back on track with his life.
