Modern British drama for Lankan theatre

“The Lover”, Sinhala adaptation of Nobel Prize-winning British playwright, Harold Pinter’s ‘The Lover’ directed by Thilini Ruwandhika will be staged at 3.30 pm and 6.45 pm on February 17 at the Namel Malini Punchi Theatre, Borella.
This play by one of the most influential modern British dramatists was translated by Dr. Lakshman Fernando and it was nominated at the State Drama Festival and won several awards at the Youth Drama Festival in 2017.
At the State Drama Festival the play was nominated for the Best Drama, the Best Direction, the Best Actor and the Best Actress awards.

At the Youth Drama Festival it won the awards for the Best Actor for Yasantha Buddhika, theBest Actress for Thilini Ruwandhika, the Best Production – third place and Jury’s special mention.
Music direction is by Sajitha Anuththara Anthony, lighting by Lenin Liyanage and Dilshan Edirisingh e, choreographed by Mahesh Umagiliya, make up by Sankalpa Jayakody, stage management by Chethana Ilangaratne and sound management is by Ashan Udupildeniya.
