My talking cat
One day when I went to the town, I saw a basket. So I took the basket and brought it home. When I opened the basket there was a cat inside. I didn’t know that he could talk, I just asked its name.
Then the cat said, “My name is Tommy.” I was so surprised. I asked his name again. Then the cat said again, “My name is Tommy.”
That night I didn’t sleep. I had a long chat with the cat. I love the cat so much. He is always talking with me.

My favourite ocean friend
When I go diving with my father
I can see you every day…

You are so colourful and
you are so red with tiny tiny dots…

Advantages and disadvantages of mobile phones
At present, mobile phones are very useful for both adults and children. Nowadays the mobile phone plays a major role in our lives which brings many benefits to us. But it also contains some drawbacks. Generally mobile phones certainly bring about a lot of advantages.

First of all the mobile phone is considered the fastest means of communication in our daily life. We can easily contact our relatives and friends by calling and sending messages. Secondly the mobile phone is also a means of entertainment. We can listen to music and play games on our mobile phones. By using the latest apps we can access the internet to watch films, check our profiles in social networks and update our status wherever we are. Finally, if we have a smart phone in hand, studying becomes more effective such as looking up words in the dictionary finding many sources of reference on internet etc., which is useful for studying.

On the other hand, there are also many disadvantages. Firstly, the user becomes addicted to their mobile phone. If they are too dependent then the ability of human communication is limited. If the phone is more present in some event such as a class meeting, on the bus, in the park, then some people only focus on their phones without communicating with others. Too much use of the phone makes people waste too much time.

It not only influences study results, makes students distracted but it also can cause eye disease and stress.
Finally, we should not use mobile phones while we are driving because it can lead to traffic accidents.
In conclusion, mobile phones are necessary for our modern lives. However, whether it is helpful or not depends on the ways we use it. It will be better if we use it for its true purpose and for an appropriate time.

The Solar System
The Solar System is an immense creation in the universe. It’s quite interesting. Perhaps it is a wonder of God.
The Sun (main part of the Solar System) has a great gravity which attracts all the planets. The order of the Solar System is Sun, Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune.
Since the day I heard about
a spaceship, I was deeply interested about the Solar System. The black hole too makes me very interested. The Earth is the only planet in the Solar System where life exists. But I suppose there may be more. I hope I would be
a great scientist one day.

My hobby
During my free time I like to play with my brother. Some days I ride my bicycle in the morning. I watch cartoons in the evening. I like to help my parents. I also like to draw.
But my favourite hobby is reading books. I mostly read storybooks. My parents buy many storybooks for me. By reading books I can gain knowledge. I also enjoy myself reading.

A visit to Guruge Park
I visited Guruge Park on Friday June 29, 2018. We went around
11 o’clock. I went with my mother, father, brother and my Wazeer Uncle’s family. Uncle helped us to enjoy the tour very well. We saw old kings’ statues, Saradiel train, Ferris wheel, dinosaur train and many things.
We went on a boat and my sister Zahra and brother Zarkawi showed many things to us and we took photographs. My mother took me with her and gave kind advice, explanation about the things.
I enjoyed very well.

Did the knocked-down dog die?
A few years ago, a strange incident occurred. We were on our way back home from shopping, but as we were reversing our car, we felt a weird bump and later got to know that we had actually run over a dog’s leg. It was a pup at that time.
We were helpless; we couldn’t do anything. In the end we decided to bring it home. It was a weak creature, malnourished, skin with no fur and pitiful eyes were what it had. We started to treat him. We used medicinal parts of plants to cure it and it did very well.

The pup was a very healthy pup in no time. Through time, it grew up into a healthy and strong dog.
It now guards our house and gives us great companionship. It always follows us when we walk about, showing that he is intelligent enough to understand what we feel. Its name is Axi.

Many dogs get knocked down by car accidents. People must learn to be more careful. It people would at least take necessary action after facing such incidents, surely dogs would have lived in the streets much more happily.
I hope that people would be quick enough to think about what to do in such situations, without destroying a life that is not their own.

Being 12
If you’re one of them
(who’s nutting to be twelve)
You’ll be glad to find out;
it’s a good age to dwell,
Even if you’re still a shy, cry baby,
with that tear in your eye,
No need dear friend; for dismay,
you’ll happily pass time by.

When you’ve just one more step
to enter teenage life,
And you’re still in your world of
dreams unaccomplished,
Better wake up mate, and start living
your dreams before it’s late!
Achieve them and your days will
surely turn out to be lavished!

When you’ve finally won many hearts,
and carried someone each time he fell,
I’m pretty sure you’ll remember at once,
The time when you were twelve,
Now that you’ve changed into a brand new leaf,
From where you were, into who you are today,
I’m glad this year’s helped you,
For it’s helping me too, in every way!!
