Mark Ronson to work on Dua Lipa’s album

Mark Ronson will be working on Dua Lipa’s next album. Ronson according to reports has been impressed with Lipa’s song writing skills for his supergroup Silk City that the top producer and musician felt it right to offer to collaborate with the 23 year on her second album, which could be out as early as 2019. Lipa who signed up with Warner Music in 2015 released her debut self- titled album in 2017. It spawned four top hit songs including two chart topping UK hits ‘New Rules’ and ‘One Kiss’.

Queen’s Brian May working with NASA

Queen’s Brian May is working on a music project for NASA of the US. The 71 year old lead guitarist of Queen who was awarded a PhD in astrophysics from the Imperial College, did not reveal other details according to UK press reports as it was too early.

Meanwhile in another development May seemed irritated when his Apple USB- C connector bent after use and useless.

He took to social media to post a photograph of the bent device, bemoaning that he had to spend a lot of money and carry a bag of such connectors as they kept bending. In his posting May added “my love for Apple is turning to hatred”. His social media posting drew over 92,000 likes and over 5000 comments.

Cher ready to record more ABBA classics

Veteran singer Cher has hinted she is ready to record another album of ABBA tribute songs. Cher released her first ABBA tribute album in September, a week after the musical Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again, was released to cinemas. She also stars in the film. In a social media posting Cher 72, listed the ABBA song she would like to record on her next album.

Meanwhile Cher will retire only when she cannot physically perform anymore. She is currently on tour promoting her ABBA covers album ‘Dancing Queen’.

Jess Glynne’s Thursday moves into the charts

Jess Glynne’s ‘Thursday’ made a movement up the top 10 UK singles chart from 7 to 4. The song is the third track to roll of Glynne’s second album ‘Always In Between’. The pop track received its original boost after Glynne performed it live on Strictly Come Dancing, early last month.

 

Katy Perry tops list of highest earners

The world’s highest earning female music artists for 2018 have been announced by Forbes. In the top 10 there eight US artists while one is a German and another is from Barbados. The list: – 1. Katy Perry $83 million, 2.

Ariana Grande’s ‘Thank U’ still at No. 1

For a third consecutive week Ariana Grande’s ‘thank U, next’ is the No: 1 song on the UK singles chart. The gap between Grande’s hit and nearest rival ‘Woman Like Me’ by Little Mix was 24,000 in combined sales. The song is the title track from the 25 year old singer’s forthcoming album of the same title. In addition to being the chart topping song in the UK, ‘thank U, next’ has also topped the singles charts in her home country the US, Australia, Canada and New Zealand.
