My Deepavali with Sri Lankan friends in Malaysia
I’m Lakshmita Vigneswaran from Malaysia. I am 8 years old. This year my Deepavali was very special. It was very special because my friends from Sri Lanka came to celebrate Deepavali with me in Malaysia.
My very close friend Miss Pavithira from Galle Sri Lanka, Sulochana from
Kurunegala Sri Lanka and Sumudu from Galle Sri Lanka. I was very excited and happy to meet them in Ipoh, Perak
Malaysia.
My mother cooked special dishes for them like chicken curry with biryani rice and much more. We prepared for them some special murukku and cookies. Miss Pavithira cooked some Sri Lankan dishes like Sri Lankan hot chicken. It was very delicious. We had a nice party.
My lovely Sri Lankan friends are always friendly and loving people.

My best friend
My best friend’s name is Sanuka. He is 12 years old. He is from Ragama. His father is the owner of four buses.
We two share things together. And we share food together. If he goes anywhere he goes with me. He has two younger brothers. They too come to the same school. My friend’s favourite sport is swimming. He comes to school by van. When he goes in his own van, he used to buy me achcharu every day.
He is the best friend ever…

Say ‘No’ to discrimination
Everyone in the world differs from one to one. They can differ from their gender, colour, race, religion and behaviour. However, in the world today, discrimination has spread between everyone.
Some people don’t speak or even care about each other because of discrimination. We may be different from each other for many reasons but, all of us live together in the same planet. It doesn’t matter about being white or black, girls or boys, rich or poor, we should hold hands together. Say ‘NO’ to discrimination and say ‘HELLO’ to love and kindness.

Father of our Sri Lankan traditional music
Father of our
Sri Lankan traditional music is
W. D. Amaradeva.
He did a great service to our music industry. He makes our traditional music loved by all the world. He was a singer, composer and also an instrument player. He was awarded many national and also international awards.
He also composed music of the National Anthem of the Maldives. He learnt many types of music and he used them in our Sri Lankan music. He was a hero in our music industry because he changed our music industry to a good manner and made people aware of it.
He is an unforgettable character in our minds and the music industry even today, though he is dead.

The helpful Sri Lankans
Early in the morning we were going to Kandy. We needed wood for a certain purpose. So we thought to go and see the timber mill and see some wood.We went a long distance. But we could not find the timber mill. Then we asked some people if they knew of a timber mill near by. They told us that we had passed the timber mill.

Then we turned the car to the correct path. Then there was a really big traffic jam. Then we had to stay in the traffic jam for a long time. We went to the Food City. We bought some sweets. After that the traffic jam wasn’t too big. We turned our car to a narrow road.
We did not see the drain. The left side tyre of our car fell into the drain.

Then some good people helped us to get it out. We will never forget those helpful people. We need more such people to make our country beautiful.
