Flowers beautify the world
Flowers are the most wonderful and beautiful creations of Mother Nature. They beautify the whole world. There are many kinds of flowers. They have different colours, shapes and fragrances.
Some flowers bloom at night such as Water Snowflake and Queen of the Night. Some flowers grow in water, such as lotus and water-lily. Blue Water Lily is the National Flower of Sri Lanka. Some flowers have hundreds of petals. Their fragrances also differ from each other.
There are many purposes of flowers. Flowers can relax us. They help with pollination and provide food for insects which depend on flower nectar. Flowers are mostly used for religious activities. Some flowers are used for medicinal purposes. Some flowers are used for floral decorations.
Flowers are very attractive. Enjoy flowers in your free time. You can maintain gardening as a hobby. Enjoy and help to grow more flowers to make the world a more colourful and beautiful place.

My idea of a good teacher
A teacher is comparable to a second mother. A teacher is not only the one who teaches us lessons but also the one who teaches us good habits. For instance, our mother is also a teacher as she shows us the right path. A teacher is a person who loves us and cares for us.
A teacher should be kind and loving but also strict at times as we can become too naughty if she is too lenient. If you love the subject a particular teacher teaches, then you would also love her. To be a teacher, one should be mild tempered and kind. Being a teacher is not an easy task. To become a teacher, one should have suitable qualifications and wide knowledge. To explain a lesson in simple and clear language is an important skill for a teacher.
If I ever get the chance to be a teacher I would like to be like one of my favourite teachers. Love and interest for teaching is what makes a good teacher.

Scout means a prominent character in the society, especially a Devan Scout. Even in hikes, job weeks, jambories and many other ceremonies and competitions conducted in Scout sight, Maliyadeva Scout Group takes a good place. The world famous hike ‘SRMCT’ was also conducted and organized by Maliyadeva Scout Group.
