Pinsara Hettiarachchi

Swimming champ
Pinsara Hettiarachchi has received numerous awards and accolades in swimming. The talented young swimmer, who has been with Sussex from UKG level, first showed a keen interest in swimming while at Sussex Ampara, his hometown. His passion for swimming was recognised and given the utmost support by the school through a special transfer to Sussex College Malabe. Since the youngster requires the warmth of his family as that too plays a pivotal role in his performance, Sussex has sponsored the accommodation for them within close proximity to the school and provided Pinsara with a dedicated coach to enable him to focus on achieving utmost success in both academics and sports. Furthermore Pinsara is also given the privilege by excluding all payments of bills at school. This has further enabled him to excel in his events; 50m Backstroke, 50m Dolphin, 50m Freestyle and the 4x50m relay in the Under-12 age group while establishing two records in the national level events.
