Tony Greig memorial proceeds for News 1st cause
View(s):Vivian Greig , wife of the late cricketer and commentator , Tony Greig , donated the funds collected at Tony Greig’s memorial service at the St Martin-in-the-Fields Church in London to the News 1st Community Initiative Gammadda , during her visit to Sri Lanka.
She said it was a dedication to the love and affection Tony, Vivian and children Beau and Tom had for Sri Lanka. “We have heard the good work done by the News 1st Gammadda programme and have confidence that our donation will benefit those intended at the time of collection,” she said.
Bandula Jayasekara accepted the donation on behalf of News 1st Gammadda and thanked Ms. Greig and her children for the generous donation to help the needy of Sri Lanka. He said the late Tony Greig had a very special place in the hearts of Sri Lankans.
